Arnstein86 Feb 10, 2016 @ 5:37pm. The retarder is often the most used way to slow the truck IRL (maybe together with jake brakes and trailer breaks). Because if you use the brakes to much, you will get low air pressure and your truck will not move, and because you will save your brakes from extra wear and tear. โ€“ added more realistic retarder values. *IMPORTANT note: In order for this gearbox to work in โ€œautomaticโ€ or โ€œreal automaticโ€ mode, as it was intended, you need to go to the file of the engine that you currently use and delete this data: # RPM Data. rpm_range_high_gear: (xxxx, yyyy) Credits: StaticTM Berikut ini 3 Cara Pengereman pada Euro Truck Simulator 2. Memakai Retarder. Pengereman dengan retarder memungkinkan pengangkatan mesin yang cenderung lebih enteng. It's the retarder that's stuck, turn it off. Look for Retarder higher, and retarder lower in key config. I mapped them to pgup and pgdn respectively. You should lower it. 1. its not a racing car. 2. make sure you are not in Neutral. 1. its not a racing car. 2. make sure you are not in Neutral.
Not sure how to explain this strange new behavior. I've been driving the new MAN TGX for 50+ hours and only just tonight noticed that it's slowing me down automatically when cruise control is on. I'll set cruise control to 50 km/h, speed up to 70, and about a second later it drastically brakes me down to 50 again. I don't have a retarder on this truck and the automatic retarder setting in
Electric retarders also put a heavy electrical load on the truck's alternator -- so it has to be sized (and possibly upgraded) appropriately. Engine brakes and retarders lose effectiveness at lower road and engine speeds -- the truck has to be in the right gear (lower, to increase engine RPM) to get the most out of an engine or exhaust brake
I disabled these two, but I can't tell the difference (nor I understand what it should be). I was under the impression that engine braking just meant limiting the speed with the stick, so I don't understand how that would be automatic anyway, since I drive manual. As for the retarder, I know that my current truck has one but as far as I can tell it makes no difference, either with the
Jake or compression-release brakes are mostly used in American trucks and, while exhaust-restriction brakes are used in Euro trucks. Both are engine brakes, just different methods. The setting is called "Automatic retarder". When it is checked it will slow you down when on cruise control and going downhill for instance.
pieperjohanns Aug 17, 2017 @ 12:49pm. The exhaust/engine brake is now applied automatically together with the retarder, so you can't use the retarder separately anymore. At least that's how it works in the newer Volvo now (haven't tried the other trucks). #1. Enichelle ^_^ Aug 17, 2017 @ 12:51pm. When you manually use the Retarder, it is essentially a way of slowing down without using the brakes, and overdoing it. I also use it to decrease stopping distance in a emergency. There are mods for ATS that fix this problem, I'm sure Euro2 has a mod also because real trucks don't act this way. These are powerful engines; you'd need to either pop the clutch (like your foot slips off the pedal) or forget to take off the spring/parking brakes to make them stall. #16. Iron Maiden Dec 15, 2017 @ 4:54pm. I can increase the retarder by 3 levels (if the gear box support it), I feel the effect and I see the stick moves inside the cabin. But I don't manage to see nor feel the effect of increasing engine brakes. I do manage to use the engine brake via holding the engine brake key, or via setting it to auto engine brake mode, But I don't manage to see the effect of increasing the engine brakes str egRZG.
