AoE2HD was fine with much lower specifications. I used to play on just regular intel on board graphics. But Iris Xe is supposed to be a significant step up. If you want to play using HD resolution on a Dell laptop, I would highly recommend the XPS 15 with a GTX1650 unless you're willing to risk poor performance.
Witha system housing a graphics card like the GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile and some 8GB RAM, we will see a strong 4K Ultra result in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.

Hey I hope there will be more graphics settings than there was in beta so we can run it smoothly on little older hardware. My beta was running extremely slow at times, but now I’m not sure if it’s just the game, their ping or my hardware that caused this. Other players had pings up to 2000ms. But I never got to run game flawlessly even with
Heresome infos. The temperatues are at 50° for the GPU and for the CPU as well. The use to capacity at the GPU is at 65%, the use to capacity of the CPU is at 15-20%. I have fps drops from 140 to 17. The game is in my opinion with this problem not playable. Last edited by Jaderny!

Goingback to the OP, the decisions made to revamp the graphics in this game simply did not work out well. The 2007 Age III looked great and was easy to see what was going on. This new game is just a visual mess. I've tried for a long time to play with graphic settings, but cannot resolve any of the issues with AOE III DE.
