The KTM 1050 Adventure is a medium weight bike which is good both for daily commuting and highway cruising. Its performance may not be at a super level, but the bike offers a fun ride and is better than its bigger cousins.
The KTM 1090 Adventure R powered by the same LC8 1,050 cc V-twin engine which, in normal form, makes 125 horsepower (30 more than the current 1050) and 80 pound-feet of torque. KTM will also be offering a 95 horsepower version, which can restricted to 47 horsepower for the A2 licensing system.
Since the 125 Duke is aimed squarely at the learner market, its power is pegged at 15hp, which arrives at 10,000rpm (500rpm lower than the old model but the same, legally-mandated peak output). The torque is also essentially unchanged at 8.5lb-ft and 7,750rpm. The new engine also gets ride-by-wire and an assist/slipper clutch.
Due to the taller suspension, the ground clearance is also increased on the 1190 Adventure R. It sits at 250mm, compared to 220mm on the 1190 Adventure.
